Summary

Included here is a biozone named after Russia's famous Lake Baikal. It comprises the area extending east and southeast from Potomsk and the Northbaikalian Plateaus, and includes the northern part of the Prebaikal area, a large part of Transbaikalia and part of northeast Mongolia.

Of the endemic and near endemic vascular plants so far recorded there are about 53 species in 37 genera and 20 families. There is 1 endemic or near endemic genus (marked red) but no endemic families.
